Voices of Grey is an exhibition that was designed for the Grey Roots Museum & Archives in Owen Sound, Ontario. It features the voices of select individuals–some famous, others not–whose stories serve as entry points to some of the broad topics addressed in the surrounding gallery. The exhibition is made up of a stylized house frame lit with LED light strips. Throughout the space, audio elements share cultural stories from Grey County, Ontario.
Key exhibits include a gallery area showcasing hanging artifacts; an interactive telephone window that invites visitors to call in and listen to historical narratives; the Artifact of the Month Wall, which highlights a featured object and encourages guests to share their reflections; and the Listening Wall, composed of images and embedded speakers to create an immersive sensory experience through layered audio.
This project was researched, designed and fabricated by Blue Rhino Design in partnership with Performance Solutions. My role was as an Industrial Designer with Performance Solutions.
