This clock design opens a conversation on the fluidity of home and cultural identity. The clock is based on the experience of identifying with more than one location as home. The user can set the two separate clock faces to two separate time zones, depending on their personal notion of what home means to them.
The objective of this project was to create a home accessory that addresses contemporary Canadian culture. Through user interviews, I found that many individuals identified with Canada as their home, yet also had another background or culture that they identified with. The choice to create an all-wood product came from the natural life aesthetic discovered during market research.
