MindWorks is an exhibition rooted in cognitive psychology, and explores mental processes like decision making, creativity, emotions, memory, and consciousness in a way that is playful and interactive. Through self-discovery, visitors can learn more about how their minds work, as well as why we think, feel, and react the way we do.

Examples of exhibits include the Shape Shifter, which requires users to use problem solving skills to fit through a maze of unusual, cut-out shapes. There are decision-making games that inspire users to analyze their unconscious biases - why do we make decisions the way we do? The Dinner Party is a VR experience where users learn about the psychology behind eyewitness testimonies. The Flow State exhibit asks users to enter a state of creativity by challenging them to build a complex tune out of blocks, or make art through motion. The Co-Creation Space is where users can work together to create pieces of public art.

This project was researched, designed and fabricated by the Ontario Science Centre. My role was as an Exhibit Designer within the Science Content & Design department. The Ontario Brain Institute is the exhibition’s Knowledge Partner.
