These tealight holders were made with off-cuts and scraps from previous wood projects. The repurposed wood speaks to the ability to turn materials otherwise seen as trash into something functional. There is no need to create waste when there is always potential to create something beautiful.
The objective of this project was to create a product made of repurposed materials, while still keeping the ability to be replicated or mass-produced. I did local research on companies and organizations in Toronto that produced a waste material I could utilize, and found several studios and a university with excess waste from wood projects. Using the wooden scraps and off-cuts from these locations, I was able to fabricate the tealight holders.
